I came across these before Christmas when I was looking around for extra wheels for our MarioKart game. I was a little unsure of what the quality would be for the price but I just couldn’t pass these up for 5.99 for 2. You can easily pay that or more for one wheel. I figured they had to be worth $3.00 each. And they are. In fact they are just as good as the wheels that have come with our games. They are a little bigger than the wheel that comes with the Mariokart game and they have rubber where you hold on with your hands. The Wii brand remotes fit nice and snug, but not too snug, in the wheels. Very happy I grabbed these up when I did.

An important measure for good accessory is whether it adds to the gaming experience or not. This one certain does. Not only is this more comfortable than holding a Wiimote naked or jacketed, the wheel itself is just fun. It’s just so entertaining to swing the wheel left and right like a madman. Built with durable ABS plastic, this wheel’s got a decent weight to it and will certainly last the same if not longer than your other Wii accessories. Getting the Wiimote into the wheel really isn’t any problem at all. Just take off any jacket or sleeve your Wiimote may be wearing, and slip it in. Four grips in each corner hold the Wiimote in firmly, and taking it out of the wheel is as easy as pushing through the hole in the back. The wheel also carries the rumble perfectly.
Every function of the Wiimote is available when in the wheel except for the expansion port. Players can even navigate the Wii menu with the Wiimote in the wheel thanks to an IR port on the left side of the wheel.
The B button extension on the back fits perfectly over the Wiimote’s counterpart, with no gap in between. Even the wrist strap comes through the hole in the back.

Even if this 2-pack of wii steering wheel remote holders was $15, I would still have given it a solid 5 stars. The fit is slightly tight (but not too much to damage the controllers) and it also fits the 3rd party brand Nyko wii remotes (which have a slightly larger battery cover due to the rubber grip). The grips on the steering wheels are comfortable, and I still cannot believe I bought them for only $6 for the two of them. The only slight complaint I have is that the infrared window is oriented opposite similar steering wheel holders so that the open part of the steering wheel faces down if you use your right thumb to control the throttle (like you do on the authentic Nintendo brand wheels). Other than that, these are a great accessories to make games like MarioKart Wii a little easier to steer, and how can you go wrong for an average of $3 each??? Solid construction, comfortable feel, absolutely unbeatable price!
